Introduction

In 2006, the Regional Interpreter Education Center at Northeastern University held a forum to begin to look closely at the specialized work of the Deaf Interpreter. Patrick Boudreault, Janis Cole, Jan DeLap, Eileen Forestal, Carole Lazorisak, Terry Malcolm, Mark Morales, Priscilla Moyers, Cynthia Napier, Sharon Neumann-Solow, Deborah Peterson, and Stacey Storme were selected to participate. Working in teams of three, they developed presentations in four areas of Deaf interpreter practice: Deaf Consumer Assessment, Interpreting Process, Language Foundations, and Ethical Decision-Making. Their presentations are summarized below by Patrick Boudreault.
