A recent survey conducted by RID (Views, 4/1/09, pp 61-61) indicated that among RID members, 21% hold a Master’s degree. Eighty-three hold an associates degree or higher; 60% hold the bachelors degree or higher. Two percent hold a doctorate. It should be noted that 74.7% of survey respondents were RID certified; 20.8% were associate members. A little less than 5% were not certified. However, the survey findings did not separate out Deaf Interpreters; 4.6% of respondents identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
