DI Institute reflects the creative work of many.
An esteemed group of Deaf Interpreters, educators, and researchers partnered with the NCIEC starting in 2006 to investigate and promote effective practices in Deaf Interpreting and Deaf Interpreting Education. They contributed to the design and conduct of various studies, presented the team’s findings at conferences, reviewed reports, and developed case studies, among many other activities. The NCIEC gratefully acknowledges the work of Jimmy Beldon, Patrick Boudreault, Eileen Forestal, Carole Lazorisak, Priscilla Moyers, Cynthia Napier, Debbie Peterson, and joining the team in 2009, Steven Collins. NCIEC staff actively engaged with the work of the DI team were Cathy Cogen who served as team lead and Lillian Garcia Peterkin. Alberto Sifuentes, Program Assistant for the Regional Interpreter Education Center at Northeastern University (NURIEC), provided technical assistance. Read staff bios.
