Overview: The Staff Deaf Interpreter provides professional, quality

interpreting services to SignOn’s customers while participating in a

collegial, supportive atmosphere with the SignOn Team.

Requirements:

*  Experienced Deaf Interpreter: Certified (CDI) preferred

*  Documented experience working with minimal language Deaf

individuals, non-standard ASL/sign users, and with monolingual

Deaf clients

*  Minimum of 500 hours interpreting experience in various legal and

mental health settings

*  Preferred Deaf-Blind interpreting experience (if none, must

complete training by December 2010 at your own expense)

*  Five-years of experience mentoring, coaching, teaching language

and culture with certified hearing interpreters preferred

*  Experience developing Deaf interpreters preferred

Duties:

*  Be available 30 hours per week to provide part-time staff

interpreting services (Guarantee of 24 hours paid per week)

*  Work schedule will vary from day to day depending on interpreting

demand (priority); this tends to vary from zero to full days;

unless the staff DI is on an interpreting assignment or in the

field mentoring interpreters they will be expected to be in the

office available to interpreters and administrators

*  Remaining time will spend working with SignOn management

providing website support, professional development to staff -

workshops, mentoring, etc. – and whatever is deemed necessary and

appropriate for the benefit of SignOn and its staff interpreters.
